The challenge

— To recruit a new head of employment for a leading US law firm after the previous incumbent resigned out of the blue to go to a competitor.

— The firm had a lot of ongoing work and needed an immediate replacement in order to continue to service its clients and to maintain its reputation.

— The new partner needed a significant client base in order to be accepted for partnership by the US partners.

— The hire needed to be done quickly and in an area where there was stiff opposition by many other law firms.

The solution

— Through our extensive network of contacts, we heard about the resignation and also about lawyers who would suit this position.

— We used our contacts at a trade paper to secure a prime advertising slot, which attracted an enquiry from the head of employment at another US firm. The partner was already under offer from another firm.

— Working closely with the Managing Partner of our law firm, we managed the entire process, including a stringent business plan review and meetings between the partner and the various partners in international offices of the US firm.

— The recruitment process was successfully concluded within 4 weeks from start to finish.
