Experience: I work with senior lawyers, advising on partnership and team moves within private practice at UK and US firms. I’m a Director of RedLaw, originally beginning my career as a lawyer. I spent several years at Bird & Bird, training there to becoming a mid-level associate.  I later moved as part of a team to set up a successful boutique firm, before becoming a Senior Associate at Allen & Overy. In 2009, I founded RedLaw with Jonathan Benjamin.

I work with senior lawyers (from senior equity partners to lawyers seeking their first partnership appointment) who are looking for a partnership move and I have had extensive experience working with lawyers on both individual moves and also on larger team moves. I work with a broad spectrum of law firms predominantly in London and have placed lawyers across the commercial law spectrum: corporate, finance, real estate, energy, technology and IP, competition, tax, employment, to name a few.

Awards:

Recruitment Consultant of the Year at the London and South East Recruitment Awards 2008.

Approach: I have a highly personalised and consultative approach working and often work with lawyers throughout their careers. I am proactive and positive and enjoy working closely with lawyers and law firms to understand their specific objectives and needs and then providing guidance and support through the whole process.

Outside interests: I used to run marathons, including London and New York, but now I just amble around the park or subject myself to the odd fitness boot camp. I enjoy socialising with friends and spending time with my young children.

Background: My focus is on the lateral recruitment of Partners and senior level fee-earners into law firms in London and other major financial centres in the UK. Working across a range of disciplines, my practice covers both contingent recruitment, and also retained search exercises, on behalf of clients who are seeking strategic lateral hires.

I started my legal recruitment career at a large international recruitment agency in 2003 and have held senior positions at well-known legal recruitment firms in the City. I joined RedLaw in 2017.

Prior to recruitment, I qualified as a lawyer in 1997 and worked in corporate finance at Eversheds in London and subsequently in-house at Numis PLC, executing ECM and corporate finance transactions.

Approach: I have spent more than 20 years in the City, working alongside or on behalf of private practice lawyers and firms. This has given me excellent knowledge of the London and wider legal market and a thorough understanding of the needs of both lawyers and law firms at each particular stage of their development.
In my dealings with clients and candidates my approach is always to be honest, discreet, pragmatic and straightforward. I aim to build long term relationships and to keep each process as constructive and transparent as possible; provide solutions and understand the expectations on all sides.

Outside Interests: I love spending time with my young family and friends. I enjoy playing all sports, particularly tennis and golf (with enthusiasm but no great distinction) and I run/amble as much as possible, to keep fit.
I am also a Trustee of a wonderful Oxfordshire-based charity, the Let’s Play Project, which specializes in the provision of much needed play, friendship and leisure opportunities for young people with disabilities.
